Question...

I was jumping around message boards, and I have noticed the increasing number of Packer fans. With all the new these new fans coming out of the wood work, I'm curious to hear anyone's story as to why they are Packer fans and when they decided to become a cheesehead:)

I grew up with Packers in my Chicago home because my father had been a life long fan. I had no idea about the game so therefor I had no team. A year before they won the Super Bowl I wanted to see what all the excitment was about. I asked my dad to teach me the game, and he did so by us watching the Packers games. Because of that, I learned to not only love football, but became a huge Packers fan as well. I credit me being a Cheese Head both to my father and because well, I learned the game from scratch by watching them! My husband also happened to be a Cheese Head since he was a boy, so I just feel like I was born to be a Cheese Head!

I have been a Packer fan for a good 55 years now. I am not a male - but when I was working at the hospital, all of us women were really into watching the Packers. We had to decorate our offices for the Christmas season and guess what - about half of us decorated our offices with newspaper pictures and even found some green and gold Christmas stockings to use. We used green and gold tinsel and anything we could find to go with the news stories and pictures. If anyone had come down to our offices, they would have thought that most of the workers were men. I was a Packer Fan even before they were winners. It is good to see that so many people jumped on the band wagon while they were winning. How many of them are still watching them now that some of the glory has been dampened? If you are a true Packer Fan, you will cheer for them even when they don't win. By the way, all of the office help were women with a lone male supervisor. Guess it takes a true Packer fan to stay with them this long. I have never had a chance to see a game in person but we did take a trip to the Hall of Fame and a tour of the stadium. GOOD LUCK TO THE PACKERS!!! Nita B

ahh I get this question all the time, since I live in Indianapolis. I too grew up with a father who was a PACKER fan. My Dad was a truck driver and he felt a kinship with the Packers in the way the team was started by meat packing men, men who really WORKED for a living VS the pencil pushers of the world. I am 47 and a female and have been to Lambeau 2x once for a game against the Indianapolis Colts and once to take my 7 year old daughter there to learn and understand the game and to see the new inproved Lambeau field. My basement is a shrine. I once made my mother in law bow down in front of the Vince Lombardi speech that I have framed on my wall, with a candle lit underneath it. One more thing ...a greater city you will nevr find. The city of Green Bay is a place I would like to retire to (snow and all)
